The 218th General Assembly of the PC(USA) made some major decisions that require prayer and thoughtful response. The most significant decisions are contrary to the very foundation of Christian faith and life, our calling to witness to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in and for the world.

Out of concern for the actions taken by a slim majority vote of the 2008 General Assembly of the PC(USA), which were expressed in Rev. Dr. Ron Scates’ letter of June 30th, the Session of HPPC met Tuesday, July 8th at a specially called meeting.

I am shocked and dismayed. Yesterday, I stepped off the plane from Ethiopia and was greeted by the news that the General Assembly of the PCUSA has taken a number of actions which are at odds with Scripture and threaten to unravel any vestige of purity, peace, and unity that may still exist within the denomination.
Urgent Needs in Burma (Myanmar) & China
