Music Academy
The Music Academy at Highland Park Presbyterian Church is committed to providing the highest caliber of musical training to HPPC members and the community.
This instruction will enable the students to serve better in musical capacities in the church and to enjoy growth and satisfaction both in performing and appreciating the art of music. We recognize music as a gift from God and wish to assist in the development of that gift to its highest potential. We are proud to present a Christian environment for students in the Dallas community to excel in the arts.
The Music Academy faculty offers excellent teaching based on outstanding educational and performance backgrounds. Careful detail has been given to teaching style and interest of the teacher in the needs of the individual student.
Private instruction in the Academy will be offered at two levels. The Artist Level is for advanced students. Students wishing to study with Artists-In-Residence will need to schedule an audition through the Music Office. The Instructor Level is for the students at all levels. (We prefer instruction to begin at the first grade level unless extraordinary interest and talent are exhibited by a younger child.) The 45-minute or 60-minute private lesson affords the best instruction opportunity for students. (Hourly lessons will be 55 minutes in length.) Instruction in flute, voice, guitar and organ is available in 30-, 45- and 60- minute sessions. Instruction in piano is available for 45- and 60-minute sessions. Participation in recitals and competitions will be encouraged as a part of our instruction program.
